Language shapes reality, and Earth shapes language. To expand that vocabulary, here’s an environmental neologism, a code used alfresco – an Alfrescode – to give voice to a particular phenomenon.

Cloudy + Bright

Observed during autumn or winter when late afternoon clouds obscure the sun. However, because the clouds are thin, the hidden sun isn’t extinguished. Therefore, it is cloudy but bright; it is clight.

“What weather we’ve been having! One minute it rains, the next it’s sunny, and now it’s quite clight!”
